Sunday Morning Prayer
Sunday mornings, 9:30-9:50 am, in the double-door storage room to the far left of the stage.  Everyone is invited to come and pray for the Sunday meeting.

If you are missing any items, please check thes Lost and Found alcove near the elevator as it will be cleared out TODAY.

Mercy Ministry Kick-Off Picnic
TODAY, 5:30-8:00 pm, church office patio, there will be a picnic to kick off the upcoming year.  If you are a part of or interested in finding out about the Mercy Ministry, please join us.  Just bring a lawn chair or blanket – burgers, dogs, and fixin’s will be provided.  Sign up at the Registration Center.  Questions, please contact Steve or Carol Ross.

Introducing God
Tuesdays, September 7-October 26, 6:30 pm, Usher’s Room.  If you are bringing someone to the upcoming Introducing God class (see back panel), please call Mary (704-948-9900) at the church office as soon as possible so the appropriate quantities of food can be prepared and also to accommodate any child care needs that may be necessary.

Financial Peace University Seminar
Struggling with finances?  Want to get out of debt?  Living paycheck-to-paycheck?  Need investment, insurance, career, or mortgage help?  CrossWay is sponsoring a second Dave Ramsey Financial Peace University video series to help you and our community with these and other financial challenges.  You will save more, eliminate debt, and manage your finances, instead of them managing you!  Invite your friends, neighbors, co-workers, anyone who needs help with their finances to this exciting, fun and enlightening seminar!  Free childcare (for guests only), refreshments and small group discussion is included.  Come to the Lobby kiosk to find out more.  For more information, and to pre-register, go to DaveRamsey.com.  Cost for curriculum kit is $99 per individual/couple when ordered through the church at the first class.  Questions, contact Chris Cagle or Bill Brown.

Parenting Teens Class
Thursdays, September 9-30, 7:00-9:30 pm, in the Special Events Room, a new series for parents of teens, “Partners with Purpose”, will be taught by Mickey Connolly.  All parents of youth ages 10 and up are invited to attend.  This free class will include message outlines and refreshments but not childcare.  The series will be available for purchase at the Media Center beginning in October.  Sign-up at the Registration Center.

Biblcial Counseling Course
Saturdays, September 11-October 9, from 9:00-11:15 am, there will be a course on Biblical Counseling taught by Larry Malament.  Anyone interested in studying the material and those interested in serving in the Biblical Counseling Ministry are invited to attend.  The material is very helpful, even if you do not serve as a counselor.  Please contact Larry at LM@crosswaync.org if you are interested in attending.

Church Family Meeting
Wednesday, September 15, 7:00-9:00 pm, there will be a Family Meeting for all church members.  Please make this meeting a priority- important announcements will be made.  Childcare will be provided.  Please note that there will be no Care Group meeting that week.

Jackson Park Ministries Food Collection
Wednesday, September 15, at the Family Meeting, we will collect non-perishable food items for Jackson Park Ministries food pantry.  The food will be used for their transitional housing and urban ministry.  Bring any items you would like to donate to the designated Lobby table before or after the meeting.

Truth and Mercy Ministry Baby Item Collection
Wednesday, September 15, at the Family Meeting, we will collect baby items (new or gently used) for Truth and Mercy Ministry (Sheryl Chandler), which “showers” needy mothers who decide against aborting their babies.  They also share the love and gospel of Jesus Christ.  You can donate clothing, toys/books, diapers/wipes, and baby equipment.  Drop off donations at the designated Lobby table before or after the meeting.

Oaks Mercy Ministry
Saturday, September 18, 10:30-11:30 am, at the Oaks Nursing Center in Huntersville, for worship and prayer.  Anyone is welcome to participate, including children with a parent.  Questions, please contact Steve or Kim Baumgartner.

Starting Point Class
Starting Sunday, September 19, 8:30-9:45 am, Room 111, Lower Level.  This 10-week membership series taught by the pastors covers the basics of the Christian life and how they are applied at CrossWay.  Free light breakfast and child care is provided.  Sign up at the Registration Center.

Young Moms’ Bible Study
The Young Moms’ Bible Study is back!  The Fall 2010 session will begin on Thursday, September 23 and run weekly through November 4, 10:30 am to 1:00 pm.  Young moms of children through age 7 are invited to CrossWay to “Experience the Power of God” together.  Childcare will be provided during the Bible Study, so moms can hear testimonies and engage in discussions that are designed to inspire and encourage them.  Moms are invited to pack a lunch for themselves and their children, so they can enjoy some additional fellowship over lunch from noon to 1:00 pm.  Drinks will be provided.  Childcare will not be provided during lunch.  Bring your friends,  neighbors…all young moms are welcome!  There is no cost for either the Bible Study or childcare, but each mom must register herself and her children at CrossWay’s website no later than September 15.  See you there!  Questions, please contact Beth Pearson.

Ladies Meeting
Friday, October 1, 7:30 pm-10:00 pm, there will be a meeting for all ladies ages 12 and up.  The theme will be “Hospitable Hearts.”  We will be talking about what’s at the heart of hospitality.  What is it that makes others feel comfortable, welcome, and cared for in our midst?  How can we cultivate the heart qualities that reach out to those around us—at home, in the church, and in the world—considering them above ourselves?  We’ll also suggest practical ways to extend hospitality whatever your circumstances and simple courtesies for everyday life.  Guests are welcome.  Free online registration will begin September 12 at CrossWay’s website.   

Guest Luncheon
Sunday, October 24, 12:00 noon, Special Events Room on the lower level, there will be a free guest luncheon for anyone who has been visiting CrossWay recently.  You will be hosted by the pastors and their wives, plus there will be Q&A at the end.  Childcare is provided.

CCEF 2010 National Conference
The CCEF 2010 National Conference will be held November 11-14 in Virginia Beach, Virginia.  The theme of the conference is “ONE for Better and Worse”, a marriage conference about much more than marriage.  The purpose is to provide a much bigger vision of marriage. Early Bird Rates are good through September 15.  Online registration is available at www.ccef.org.

CARE GROUPS

Regular
Wednesday, September 1, or Sunday, September 5.  The groups are doing different bible studies.  Contact your Care Group leader for details.  New folks are welcome - see the Care Group card display at the Lobby Welcome Center for more information.

Couples
Wednesday, September 8, or Sunday, September 12.  To participate, you should be a church member and it is also recommended that you complete both the Marriage and Parenting Foundations Series (these series are currently being updated and will be available again later this year).
