What We Do
The name Luke's Kids comes from Luke 14:12-14 and reflects Christ's heart of care and love for those with special needs and Christ's call to us to represent Him by providing that same care. Luke's Kids is CrossWay's ministry to families who have children with special needs. It is our goal to ensure that these families and their children receive the encouragement and support they need to be able to fully participate in the life of CrossWay.
Luke's Kids also provides a quarterly respite night, called R&R Night. R&R Night (which stands for 'refresh' and 'renew'), allows parents of special needs children some much needed time out. As we care for their children, parents have the opportunity to be refreshed in their spirits and renewed in their relationship with one another. R&R Night takes place on Saturday nights from 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm. We desire to create a time and provide activities for each participant that is suited for their needs, simultaneously engaging and enjoyable. Siblings are also invited to participate.
Through Luke's Kids we provide "Buddy-Up" on Sunday mornings. "Buddy-Up" enables kids with special needs (ages 1-12) to participate with their peers in their Sunday school class by providing a 1:1 'buddy' who supports, helps, and encourages that child. To participate in "Buddy-Up," please contact our children's ministry coordinators, Bob and Julie Moore, on Sunday or contact us.
